We are looking for an experienced and skilled acoustic engineer to join the team of DSP Consultants. If you possess a strong understanding of acoustic design, acoustic principles, and experience in CAD, BIM, and SketchUp. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing acoustic analysis, environmental studies, and noise modeling to deliver effective solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of CAD, BIM, and Sketchup design tasks as directed by the Acoustic Engineers.
  • Expert in HVAC and MEP services Acoustics studies.
  • Responsible for editing supplied CAD drawings to allow the easy import to acoustic noise modeling software. Typically, this includes the simplification of site plans and ensuring plans are geo-referenced to the required coordinate system.
  • Undertake building acoustic calculations for sound insulation, room acoustic, and building services calculation.
  • Providing acoustic inputs to master plans and environmental impact studies.
  • Utilize acoustic modeling software to aid calculation.
  • Attend to team and project needs as required and respond within agreed timeframes.
  • Ensure that Health and safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies.
  • Develop expertise and stay abreast of developments in relevant technical fields.

 

Qualifications And Experience:

Minimum 4-6 years of experience working in the acoustic consultancy field

 

THE LATEST EXPERIENCE MUST BE IN THE CONSULTANCY FIELD

  • Strong Knowledge of acoustic principles
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, and proven ability to communicate results in presentation and report writing
  • Bachelor’s degree in acoustic or architectural engineering, other advanced degree is preferred 
  • Membership of the IOA or MEAS is preferred
  • Knowledge of Odeon/CATT/EASE, SoundFlow or CadnaA
  • Ability to work as a valued team member with architects, interior designers, MEP and Structural Engineers
  • Able to determine a client’s requirements
  • Knowledge of Excel sheets calculations and formatting
  • Be eager and willing to learn new skills and subjects
  • Follows company policy, nature of work, training material and is open to discussing new ideas and solutions
  • Familiar with different project stages and requirements as per scope of work
  • Be able to efficiently plan, prioritize, coordinate, act, and integrate activities into client systems, programs, and processes
  • Communicate and work cross-functionally with all levels of management and technical functions
  • Work effectively within a global client organization, be flexible, diplomatic, and entrepreneurial
